Pastor Philip Houser’s Sermon: From Matthew 1 — “The birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way”. Joseph had a serious problem .Mary is pregnant and he’s not the father. The law stated she could be stoned to death. Joseph tried to figure it out on his own and decided he would put her away quietly. Of course he couldn’t remarry without charging Mary with adultery. Then the good news of the Gospel comes. An apostolic messenger tells Joseph not to fear. Yes Mary is with child but it is from the Holy Spirit. Joseph believes it’s the messiah and “the birth of Jesus Christ will take place in this way”. It’s not the fruit of adultery, but rather the fruit of the Holy Spirit; the incarnation of Christ. God sends His Son to save the lost — save us from our sins. Lamb of God Lutheran Church 1010 W Lincoln St Papillion, NE 68046 (402) 934-9045 Services Sat at 5:30 pm and Sun at 9 am.
