The first works of Mark, “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God”. Likewise Genesis: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. Beginning is a noun and adjective. THE gospel begins with Jesus - there is no other gospel apart from Him. It’s the beginning of salvation and life. Jesus does not simply represent - He is THE source of life and salvation.
